I can deeply relate to the situation expats find themselves in. After growing up in Hamburg, I have spent almost two decades of my life outside of my home country. Following stations in Paris, Chicago, and Bonn, I have been living in Amsterdam since 2010.
I also understand the challenges experts and executives face in their work, the long hours and the impact on their ability to integrate. I myself have held various executive and expert roles – you can find the details on LinkedIn.
Lastly, I understand what factor your private life plays in integrating in your new environment. For me, my family always was a major source of energy and stability, but also a reason to not seek more connections.
Since 2012, I have been studying the field of Individual Psychology
and the basic principles of human perception and motivation.
This provided a multitude of insights into interactions between
humans, which I am leveraging to coach and mentor expatriates in Amsterdam.
The powerful framework of Individual Psychology helps us understand the fundamental drives of human beings for a feeling of community and an achievement of superiority.
A person's motivation and goals are the key to understanding their actions. As human beings, we are goal-oriented.
And so maybe you'd like to know what I am doing this coaching for?

Looking back at over 20 years living abroad, I realize that this expat life is not only invigorating and stimulating, but also difficult and sometimes lonely. There are lots of things that I wish I had known when I first moved abroad, there are pointers that would have helped me, and there is encouragement (and nudging) that I would have appreciated.
So this is a chance for me to give back and support people who are just starting their expat journey, and hopefully contribute to making their lives a little bit better.
And I also love to coach. It gives me significant joy to work with people, to help them gain insights into who they are and what drives them.
And when a coachee has a eureka moment, transcends an inner boundary, and is encouraged to take the next step, it warms my heart.
Contact me if you feel I can help you with reflection and encouragement to feel connected and at home in Amsterdam.
